Avoca Drive is the key route linking the south eastern beaches with the commercial areas of Erina and Gosford on the NSW Central Coast . The road, which carries over 26,500 vehicle per day, serves as an important route for commuters travelling to the Gosford CBD or connecting to the F3 Freeway at West Gosford.

This $24.9m project included widening Avoca Drive to four lanes between Bayside Drive and Sun Valley; extending Lakewood Avenue to Koolang Road and forming a signalised intersection with Avoca Drive.

A shared use pedestrian/cycleway was constructed along the eastern side of Avoca Drive with a pedestrian path along the western side. Utilities were relocated on both sides of the road and new utilies were installed.

Works also included road pavement reconstruction and overlay works; signage, road furniture and delineation; earthworks; landscaping works; traffic signal controlled intersections; access and side roads; retaining structures; drainage works; property adjustments and site clearance.
