This $21m project featured the upgrade of the existing Nerang (south) Interchange on the Pacific Motorway at Nielsen's road. The project involved bridge and road construction, traffic signals and lighting to Spencer Road, Alexander Drive, Hinkler Drive and Nielsen's Road.

Works consisted of the widening and duplicating the overpass bridge to provide eight lanes of traffic across the motorway, construction of a new combined off-ramp connection from the M1, converting both roundabouts on each side of the motorway to synchronised signalised intersections and new on and off ramps.
