Valued at $58.4m, this was a construction project for Queensland Department of Main Roads.
The duplication involved the upgrading of 4.45 kilometres of existing motorway from two lanes to four lanes between Pacific Paradise and the Maroochydore Road Interchange.
The scope of works included the upgrade of the existing motorway from two lanes to four lanes; construction of a new southbound carriageway; upgrade of the existing interchange from a two lane roundabout to four fully signalised intersections; construction of two overpasses for the new motorway carriageway, and construction of entry and exit ramps.
The project also involved the construction of retaining walls, noise barriers, extensive culvert works and major landscaping works.
The team successfully interfaced with adjacent contractors to ensure smooth, safe and timely transition between contract packages.
Environmental challneges included the construction of drainage structures within low lying estuarine and cane field environments.
