It’s a wrap: hear about the all-female cohort’s experience with Victoria’s first Constructionarium Australia All-Female Big Build Bridge Program.
Constructionarium Australia’s first Victorian All-Female Big Build Bridge kicked off in Melbourne on 31 August.
Seymour Whyte was the principal contractor for the program which gives budding female engineer and construction professionals the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a real-life construction environment.
Major Transport Infrastructure Authority, Major Road Projects Victoria, Level Crossing Removal Project, Rail Projects Victoria, Aurecon, SMEC Johnson & Young Cranes and BASE Industries joined the program as industry partners.
The all-female cohort worked tirelessly over the eight days to construct their bridge. Opened by Allen Garner, Kevin Devlin and Peter Wilkinson, the ribbon cutting ceremony was the perfect way to cap what has been an amazing program and for our cohort to celebrate their achievements.
What an amazing first all-female build in Victoria. The participants delivered a fantastic structure, pushing themselves and each other, collaborating fantastically and overcoming the challenges of managing the delivery of the Victorian Big Build Bridge from tender to client handover.
We extend special thanks to our team for their exceptional delivery of this event; and to our leadership team for their continued support.
We look forward to joining forces with our friends at Constructionarium Australia again soon.
