The Bruce Highway – Cairns Southern Access Corridor – Stage 3: Edmonton to Gordonvale project is part of the 15-year Bruce Highway Upgrade Program. Seymour Whyte – as part of the HSA Consortium with John Holland and AECOM – will deliver the design and construct project which involves:

10.5km duplication of the two-lane highway to four lanes
New and upgraded signalised intersections
New service roads, road and rail bridges, pedestrian overpass and highway road overpass
A dedicated 10km off-road high-speed cycleway including a new cycleway bridge and the re-use of existing rail bridges
4.7km rail realignment of the Queensland Rail North Coast Line and relocation of existing cane rail lines to accommodate the duplicated highway
Removal of multiple at grade rail crossings and upgrade of boom gates
