About

The Gold Coast Rapid Transit Enabling Works project consists of road widening and significant utility relocations to prepare the corridor for construction of light rail tracks and stations for the new Gold Coast Rapid Transit transport system.

Works include extensive public utility plant upgrades and relocations, drainage upgrades and cross drainage installation, signalised intersections, road and pedestrian lighting, water provision for LV power, bus stops and bus facilities, and the protection of PUP. Accommodation and enabling works include driveways, retaining walls, fencing, car parks, local access road and works on council parks and cemetery.

Given the tight timeframe, constrained environment, the high volume of traffic utilising the work area and the quantity of work required to be completed, it is vital to sequence the work in a productive and efficient way.

“During the works, tenants of our high-rise apartment complex were required to find alternative parking and suffered from increased noise and general inconveniences in gaining access to their properties. Despite this, we found Seymour Whyte to be particularly helpful in dealing with our tenants, offering practical solutions to their individual problems, keeping noise and dust to an absolute minimum and going out of their way to assist wherever possible. We can only recommend their services to other corporations and government departments who seek a common-sense solution to the various issues that arise in completing works of this scale.”
