About
Mulgoa Road Upgrade Stage 2 builds on the successful delivery of Stage 1 between Jeanette Street and Blaikie Road and forms a key section of the broader Mulgoa Road corridor upgrade. Delivered by the Mulgoa Road Alliance, the project will improve safety, traffic flow and access in and out of Glenmore Parkway and the southern sections of Mulgoa Road.
The Stage 2 upgrade involves improving an approximately 1km section of Mulgoa Road between M4 Motorway Interchange and Glenmore Parkway. A major feature of the works is the replacement of the existing roundabout at Glenmore Parkway with a signalised intersection, including additional approach lanes and dedicated turning movements including bus priority lanes. The upgrade also enhances public transport priority, pedestrian and cyclist connectivity, and corridor resilience to support ongoing residential and commercial growth.
The project scope includes:
- Widening approximately 1km of Mulgoa Road to a six lane divided road (three lanes in each direction) with multiple turning lanes and a wide central median
- Upgrade of intersections at Gibbes Street, Glenmore Parkway, Spencer Street, School House Road and Jeanette Street
- Extensive utility relocations
- Upgrade of local roads and significant residential and commercial property adjustments and At-Property noise treatments
- Reinstatement of bus stops along Mulgoa Road, with provision for bus priority at key intersections
- Construction of a shared user path on the eastern side and a pedestrian path on the western side of Mulgoa Road
- Drainage and flooding infrastructure upgrades including a vital culvert structure
- Installation of roadside furniture and street lighting
- Tree planting and landscaping
Hours of work
Our work hours are between 7am and 6pm for day works, and 6pm and 7am for night works from Monday to Friday and 8am and 1pm on Saturdays. We will continue to keep the community informed of work needed to be completed outside of these hours.
