Seymour Whyte is pleased to announce that a consortium comprising Seymour Whyte, Civmec and Aurecon has been awarded an alliance contract with Main Roads WA for the planning and design development of the Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct (PESP) at Burswood Park.

The alliance team will progress design, approvals and early works over the coming months, with precinct construction expected to be completed in 2027.

“The project builds on Seymour Whyte’s award-winning public infrastructure capability and continues our successful partnership with Main Roads WA and Civmec on Boorloo Bridge, and our strong relationship with Aurecon across the country.”

“This is a Western Australian team building iconic infrastructure for the people of Western Australia, and we are very proud and delighted to partner with Main Roads WA to deliver this legacy project.”

“Our world-class team is further strengthened by geotechnical specialists FSG and Menard, stakeholder management by 361 Degrees and urban design/landscape architecture with Populous, Carabiner and Urbis. These specialist partners will provide a blend of both local and international expertise for the project.”

Mark Davidovic, Seymour Whyte General Manager for Western Australia.

The project will elevate Western Australia’s standing as a premier place for sport and entertainment, featuring:

  • A new outdoor amphitheatre with capacity for 15,000 to 20,000 people, complementing nearby existing venues and entertainment infrastructure, such as Optus Stadium, Crown Perth and the surrounds.
  • Facilities to support live music and sporting events, including an annual Supercars event, cycling criterium racing and paralympic racing.
  • Enhancement of the local environment through landscape improvements and renewal, including optimising green spaces, precinct connectivity and maximising the river setting.

The new multi-purpose Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct will create a lasting legacy for WA, blending environmental rehabilitation, economic opportunity and cultural celebration – delivering a year-round activation space that supports local jobs, drives tourism growth and fosters a stronger events economy.
