The Western Australian State Government has announced that the major construction contract for Perth Park has been awarded to the Perth Entertainment and Sporting Precinct (PESP) Alliance, comprising Seymour Whyte, Civmec Construction & Engineering and Aurecon Australasia.
The major contract comes as the State Government released final designs for the park, which include a 12,000-capacity outdoor amphitheatre, a multi-purpose building with function and event spaces and a hospitality venue, and a multi-use track supporting cycling and an annual motorsport event.
Landscaping will also be a major feature of the new precinct, with the tree canopy more than doubled and more than 600 new trees planted. There will also be new shared paths, limestone trails, children’s playground, exercise zones and barbecue and picnic facilities.
