The project includes approximately 1.5 kilometres of road construction and intersection improvements at 6 junctions, with bus priority measures at the key intersections. The road frequented by heavy commercial vehicles, will be widened and upgraded from a two-lane partially divided carriageway to a four-lane divided carriageway. Other works include footpath upgrades, drainage improvement works, and property access adjustments.

Throughout construction, electrical, water, communications and gas infrastructure was relocated and upgraded within and around existing utility infrastructure in a narrow services corridor. This required intricate coordination at points where all of the new and existing utilities terminated or interfaced with each other at intersections and domestic connection points. The utilities works also had to be carried out with minimal impact to the 90 properties directly adjoining the project site.  Each of these required cutover and reconnection of electricity, water, communications and gas services in a timely and efficient manner.

The project was completed safely and 1 month early despite the major design changes to both ends of the project where future interfaces were unresolved.
