Earlier this year, the project received numerous accolades including the Engineers Australia 2025 Project of the Year: Outstanding Project for Innovation Award, NSW CCF Earth Awards: Project Value Over $150 million, Master Builders Australia: Best Use of Steel Award, and Master Builders Australia: Excellence in Construction Award.

These awards recognise the project as one of Australia’s most outstanding examples of engineering excellence, stakeholder collaboration, sustainability leadership and people-focused delivery.

A defining achievement for a landmark project

Delivered by the John Holland Seymour Whyte Joint Venture for Transport for NSW, Sydney Gateway connects the Sydney Motorway Network with the Domestic and International Terminals, unlocking one of the nation’s busiest transport corridors.

Completed ahead of schedule across both stages, the project delivered new multi-lane roads, 3km of active transport links, and 19 bridges — including the distinctive Network Arch Bridges and the Deborah Lawrie Flyover.
