About

The Woolgoolga to Ballina Project comprises of approximately 155 kilometres of four-lane dual carriageway motorway that bypasses Grafton, Ulmarra, Woodburn, Broadwater and Wardell in northern New South Wales.

The Wave 5A Early Works contract involved 32 km of the alignment located within a high risk ecosystem of endangered biodiversity, soft soils and low-lying flood areas. The scope of works included 1,200,000 m3 bulk earthworks, clearing and grubbing, drainage, construction of piling pads, temporary creek crossings, temporary haul routes, construction of haul stand areas, blasting of rock, as well as the supply and placement of sub-base materials.
